Third Judicial District offers free legal self-help clinics

Wednesday, April 20, 2016

WALSENBURG, Colo. – Residents of Colorado’s Third Judicial District (Huerfano and Las Animas counties) representing themselves in some types of civil and domestic relations matters have monthly opportunities to meet with attorneys free of charge.

The clinics, sponsored by the Third Judicial District Access to Justice Committee, run from 3:30-5 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the Spanish Peaks Library at 415 Walsen Avenue in Walsenburg.

People without legal representation may speak with attorneys via videoconference to get help filling out forms and navigating court processes and procedures in family law, civil litigation, property and probate cases, collections, appeals, landlord-tenant matters, veterans benefits and civil protection orders.

The one-on-one meetings are for informational purposes only and do not constitute attorney-client relationships.

The next clinic will occur May 3, 2016, with other clinics scheduled for June 7, July 5, Aug. 2, Sept. 6, Oct. 4, Nov. 1 and Dec. 6.
