Fiscal Year July 01, 2017 – June 30, 2018

The Juvenile Court of the City and County of Denver, Second Judicial District, is seeking qualified attorneys to provide legal representation (counsel) pursuant to Chief Justice Directive 04-04 and Chief Justice Directive 04-05.

There are two separate postings and two separate applications:

(1) Truancy – Contract, Flat Rate Compensation

(2) Miscellaneous* – Non-Contract, Hourly Fee

*Miscellaneous includes:

  • Counsel in Contempt Proceedings;
  • Witness Counsel;
  • Counsel for Special Respondents in Dependency & Neglect Proceedings;
  • Counsel in Judicial Bypass Proceedings;
  • Counsel for Appeals;
  • Counsel for a Person who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing;
  • Other Cases; and
  • Guardian ad Litem (GAL) for Adults in Dependency & Neglect Cases

Court is not a comfortable environment for young children, and therefore children are not allowed in the Courtrooms.  For your convenience, the Denver Warm Welcome Court Childcare Center, located at 270 14th Street, Denver, Colorado 80202, provides free childcare for those who have business with Denver Courts.  For more information, please click here.

Provides procedural and general information to unrepresented parties on juvenile cases (Adoptions, Child Custody, Child Support, Modification of Parenting Issues, Modification of Child Support, Grandparent Custody/Grandparent Visitation, Expungements.

To file to establish paternity, the following forms are required (instructions can be found here):

            **More forms will be required after beginning your Paternity case.**

 

To file to disclaim paternity, the following forms are required (instructions can be found here):

  • Case Information Sheet – JDF 1000,
  • Petition to Disclaim Paternity – JDF 1514,
  • Summons to Disclaim Paternity – JDF 1515, and
  • Final Order of Paternity – JDF 1516.

            **More forms will be required after beginning your Paternity case.**

 

To file to modify child support, the following forms are required (instructions can be found here):

  • Verified Motion to Modify Child Support – JDF 1403,
  • Sworn Financial Statement – JDF 1111, and
  • Order Re: Modification of Child Support – JDF 1405.

 

To file for custody orders, the following forms are required:

  • Case Information Sheet – JDF 1000,
  • Petition for Allocation of Parental Responsibilities – JDF 1413,
  • Parenting Plan – JDF 1113,
  • Certificate of Service – JDF 1313, and
  • Order for Allocation of Parental Responsibilities – JDF 1422.

 

To file to modify parenting time, the following forms are required (instructions can be found here):

  • Motion to Modify/Restrict Parenting Time – JDF 1406,
  • Order Re: Modification/Restriction of Parenting Time – JDF 1424.
