Application period opens for Judicial Nominating Commission positions

Thirteen vacancies to occur on 10 commissions

 

DENVER – Applications are now being accepted for upcoming vacancies on 10 Judicial Nominating Commissions throughout Colorado.

As of Dec. 31, 2020, there will be 13 vacancies as detailed below. Judicial nominating commissioners are volunteers and serve six-year terms interviewing applicants for judicial vacancies and nominating candidates to the governor.

The Second Judicial District (Denver): 1 non-attorney vacancy.

The Seventh Judicial District (Delta, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Montrose, Ouray and San Miguel counties): 1 attorney vacancy, must reside in Ouray County.

The Ninth Judicial District (Garfield, Rio Blanco, & Pitkin Counties): 1 non-attorney vacancy, must reside in Rio Blanco County.  

The Eleventh Judicial District (Chaffee, Custer, Fremont and Park counties): 3 attorney vacancies. 

The Twelfth Judicial District (Saguache, Mineral, Rio Grande, Alamosa, Conejos, & Costilla Counties): 1 non-attorney vacancy, must reside in Conejos County.

The Fifteenth Judicial District (Cheyenne, Kiowa, Prowers, & Baca Counties): 1 non-attorney vacancy.

The Seventeenth Judicial District (Adams County & City and County of Broomfield): 1 non-attorney. 

The Nineteenth Judicial District (Weld County): 1 attorney vacancy. 

The Twentieth Judicial District (Boulder County): 2 non-attorney vacancies. 

The Twenty-Second Judicial District (Montezuma & Dolores Counties): 1 non-attorney vacancy.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, with initial application review and consideration beginning on Oct. 30, 2020. Applications may be made only online at the State of Colorado Boards and Commissions Application page at  https://www.colorado.gov/governor/boards-commissions-application. Applicants should include a current resume or biography where indicated on the application.
