DENVER – The 2nd Judicial District (Denver County) announced Wednesday that Kristin Wood has been appointed as district administrator, effective July 1, 2017, upon the retirement of Kelly Boe.
Wood has worked in the federal and state justice systems for nearly 24 years. She joined the 2nd Judicial District 10 years ago and has served for five years as deputy district administrator. She has widely varied experience including program consulting and other private-sector work.
“We are excited for Kristin to take the reins of court administration and have every confidence she will excel in her new role,” Chief Judge Michael A. Martinez said.
Boe, who has worked in the Colorado Judicial Department for 28 years, helped lead the 2nd Judicial District through substantial change, growth and progress, including a move to criminal e-filing and helping the courts handle increased criminal felony filings and a sharp rise in litigants representing themselves in court proceedings.
“Her contributions are too many to detail,” Judge Martinez said. “She has left an indelible mark not only on the courts of this district but statewide, and we will miss her greatly. We wish her well in her retirement, a reward that is hard-earned and well-deserved.”
