Opportunities with ODR

ODR is seeking additional applications for new mediators in the 10th Judicial District, Pueblo County,

due to an opening.  All Neutrals who contract with ODR are independent contractors and as independent

contractors are solely responsible for the performance of their duties under the contract and for

payment of taxes, payment of insurance, etc.  All applicants understand that prior to engagement

as an independent contractor for ODR the parties will enter into a separate written contract setting

forth the duties and responsibilities of the parties. All Neutrals must have experience in

family law issues and working with families in transition as well as be willing to submit to a background check.

Applicants must meet certain minimum qualifications, including 40 hours of mediation

training, experience as a lead mediator in a minimum of 20 cases, mediation

of and substantive knowledge in the subject area in which they are seeking

Mediators and other ADR professionals are independent contractors for the

Office of Dispute Resolution and not judicial employees.

Application Deadline:  Applications, a resume, and cover letter should be submitted

electronically via the link process below no later than 5:00 p.m. on November 30, 2018.

Applications for contract mediators are only accepted during the open application period

that takes place every three years during the month of March.  For all other Judicial Districts,

the application period for the FY17-FY19 contract period (July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2019) is now closed. 

Should needs arise during the three year contract period in any other Judicial District, 

ODR will announce a special supplemental application period.

ODR selects its contract mediators through a process of screening applications,

and in-person interviews.  Please check the website often. 

The interviews include questions designed to evaluate the applicant’s knowledge

of mediation and mediation role-plays in which applicants demonstrate their

mediation skills.
