START HERE TO ELECTRONICALLY CALCULATE CHILD SUPPORT AND/OR MAINTENANCE:
Family Law Software now provides a support and maintenance calculator through the Colorado Child Support software application.
Download the calculator here. This software can be used to produce electronic, printable child support worksheets, and to calculate maintenance. This software is based on the child support/maintenance guidelines that became effective January 1, 2014. If you need to calculate retroactive child support that was ordered prior to January 1, 2014, you will need to use the guidelines that were in effect at that time to calculate the child support owed (see the old electronic worksheet below - JDF 1820E)
If you experience problems with the Family Law Software click here for further assistance.
You may also wish to review the entire statute (§14-10-115, C.R.S.)
If you wish to use the manual worksheets, those can be found here: http://www.courts.state.co.us/Forms/Forms_List.cfm?Form_Type_ID=93
If you need to calculate retroactive child support that was ordered PRIOR to January 1, 2014, you will need to use the guidelines that were effective at that time (see the old electronic worksheet below - JDF 1820E). Please read the following information regarding the old electronic version of the worksheets:
- The prior version of the worksheets are in Microsoft Excel format below (JDF 1820E). If you do not have Excel installed on the computer you are using, you will not be able to use the electronic version of the worksheets. You may wish to use one of the manual versions (the manual worksheets can be found here: http://www.courts.state.co.us/Forms/Forms_List.cfm?Form_Type_ID=93.) To download the worksheets to your computer, simply right mouse click on the link below and select "Save Target as" (Internet Explorer) or "Save Link as" (Netscape Navigator) and then save it to your computer hard drive.
- You will not have to decide which worksheet to print out (worksheet A or B) as the program will instruct you which one to use. Throughout the program, there are help buttons to answer some of your questions. However, you may wish to view the entire statute (§14-10-115, C.R.S.) before completing your worksheets as the help instructions are not all inclusive.
- Additionally, there are several macro buttons in this program. In order to use them, you must enable macros by clicking "Yes" that the workbook is from a trusted source (Excel 97) or have Excel's security level set to medium or low (Excel 2000). To change your security settings in Excel 2000, click on the Tools menu, then Macro and select Security. Then choose either low or medium security levels. These levels allow for macro use in the worksheets.
- One example of a macro button is a "Help" button that, when clicked with your mouse, will take you to the help area for that section. In order to get back to the data entry screen, click one of the many "Back" buttons within the help area (Do not click the Back button on your browser). You will also use macro buttons to view or print the worksheets when ready.
