Timothy Kerns - 19th Judicial District Judge

Judge Kerns was appointed to the County Court bench in October of 2007 then to the District Count Bench on Jan. 1, 2011. Previously, he was general counsel for a title company in St. Charles, Missouri. Upon moving to Colorado in 1995, he provided pro-bono legal services through Lend-a-Lawyer in Fort Morgan. He continued in private practice focusing primarily in domestic relations; dependency and neglect; and mediation and civil matters in Fort Morgan, Erie and Boulder with Crespin, Kerns & Furman LLC and Furman, Kerns & Bauer LLC from 1996 until his appointment in 2007.

Judge Kerns obtained his law degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law and has undergraduate degrees in history, political science and French from Central Methodist College, Fayette, Missouri.

Judge Kerns currently presides over criminal cases.  Judge Kerns is assigned to Division 11.
