* * ANNOUNCEMENT * *

3-16-2020 - Notice Regarding COVID-19
(the “Novel Coronavirus”) and

Court and Probation Operations:

The Court and Probation Offices will remain open but, in the interest of public safety, all non-essential operations will be limited through May 31, 2020.  Notices will be sent out in all cases that are rescheduled.

We understand there is concern about COVID-19 and the 12th Judicial District is requesting that you PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE COURTHOUSES OR PROBATION if (1) you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 (“Novel Coronavirus”) and you have not received a subsequent test confirming that you are currently virus-free;

(2) you have been in direct contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the past fourteen days;

(3) you are experiencing a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or any other respiratory illness symptoms.

If any of these three criteria apply, please call the Clerk’s Office in your respective county at (719) 589-4996 (Alamosa County), (719) 376-5465 (Conejos County), (719) 672-3681 (Costilla County), (719) 658-2575 (Mineral County), (719) 657-3394 (Rio Grande County) and (719) 655-2522 (Saguache County) to reschedule your court date or request to appear by telephone if you are not represented by an attorney, or contact your attorney to file a request for a continuance or a telephone appearance. If you are subpoenaed as a witness in a case, please contact the attorney or party issuing the subpoena to explain the circumstances and discuss the options available.  

If you are summoned to report for jury duty, please contact the Jury Commissioner Jennie Heersink at (719) 589-7602 to reschedule your jury service.

Until further notice, the court will permit persons to wear surgical masks and gloves in court and probation buildings if they so desire. Persons may also bring small plastic containers of hand sanitizer into court and probation buildings.

3-16-2020 - Aviso sobre el COVID-19 (“nuevo coronavirus”) y  la manera en que operarán el tribunal y las oficinas del Departamento de Libertad Condicional:

El tribunal y las oficinas del Departamento de Libertad Condicional permanecerán abiertos. No obstante, en interés de la seguridad pública, se limitarán todas las operaciones consideradas como no indispensables hasta el 31 de mayo de 2020.  Se enviará una notificación en todas las causas que se programen para una nueva fecha.

Entendemos que hay muchas inquietudes acerca del COVID-19 y el 12.º Distrito Judicial solicita que NO VAYA A LOS TRIBUNALES NI AL DEPARTAMENTO DE LIBERTAD CONDICIONAL (PROBATION) si:

(1) recibió un diagnóstico positivo de COVID-19 ("nuevo coronavirus") y no se le ha realizado una prueba posterior que confirme que actualmente ya no lo tiene más;

(2) estuvo en contacto directo con alguien que recibió un diagnóstico positivo de COVID-19 dentro de los últimos catorce días;

(3) tiene fiebre, tos, dificultad para respirar o cualquier otro síntoma de enfermedades respiratorias.

Si alguno de estos tres criterios se aplica a su situación, llame a la Secretaría del Tribunal del condado correspondiente al: (719) 589-4996 (condado de Alamosa), (719) 376-5465 (condado de Conejos), (719) 672-3681 (condado de Costilla), (719) 658-2575 (condado de Mineral), (719) 657-3394 (condado de Rio Grande) and (719) 655-2522 (condado de Saguache) para reprogramar su cita de comparecencia en el tribunal o para solicitar que su comparecencia sea por teléfono si no lo representa un abogado. En el caso de tener un abogado, comuníquese con el mismo para presentar una solicitud de aplazamiento o una comparecencia vía telefónica. Si se le envió un citatorio judicial para comparecer como testigo en una causa, comuníquese con el abogado o la parte que emite el citatorio judicial para explicar las circunstancias y analizar las diferentes opciones disponibles.  

Si se le envió un citatorio judicial para presentarse a fin de cumplir las funciones de servicio de jurado, comuníquese con la encargada del jurado, Jennie Heersink al (719) 589-7602 para programar una nueva fecha para cumplir con tales funciones.

También pueden traer pequeños envases de plástico con gel desinfectante para manos a los edificios del tribunal y al Departamento de Libertad Condicional.
