Brief Description

18th Judicial District Internship Program (Centennial, Littleton, Castle Rock) – Summer 2018 and Fall 2018.

The Judges and Magistrates in the 18th Judicial District (Centennial, Littleton, and Castle Rock) are currently accepting applications for law student and law graduate interns for Fall 2018, Spring 2019, and Summer 2019 semesters.  These internships are unpaid, but credit may be available through your school.  

If you are interested, please send a resume, short legal writing sample (3-5 pages), and a cover letter indicating the area(s) of law that interest you (civil, criminal, domestic/juvenile), to as soon as possible.  In the subject line of your email, please reference the semester(s) for which you are applying (i.e., Internship Application: Fall 2018). Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. 

Please note that if you secure an internship with the 18th Judicial District, you may not also work or volunteer for any organization or firm that has pending cases in the 18th Judicial District during the course of your internship.

Employees may hold not-partisan public office provided that there is no conflict of interest or appearance of impropriety with the duties performed for the Judicial Department. In all cases, it will be within the discretion of the Chief Judge of the judicial district to determine whether such a conflict exists. Employees shall seek the prior approval of the Chief Judge before seeking or assuming any such office. Work related to any office held may not be performed on Judicial Department time. Membership on a board or commission that requires registration or party identification as a qualification is not considered to be partisan political office.
