Andrew Hartman - 20th Judicial District Judge |
Judge Hartman was appointed to the bench in 2013 by Gov. John Hickenlooper. Prior to government service, Judge Hartman practiced commercial law for more than 20 years representing leading high tech and consumer oriented companies. He was a partner for ten years at the AmLaw 100 firm Cooley LLP, chairing the Colorado litigation practice, and was a partner at the law firm now known as ReedSmith in Chicago. Judge Hartman served as acting general counsel for Keen footwear and Chrome bags. He was University of Colorado Law School's director of experiential learning and taught trademark, unfair competition, false advertising and copyright law at CU for over 12 years. Judge Hartman is author of The Six Minute Marathon, A Guide to Life as a Lawyer. Judge Hartman’s undergraduate degree is from the University of Michigan and his law degree, with honors, from Georgetown University, where he was editor of the American Criminal Law Review. Judge Hartman was admitted to the bar in 1989.
