13th Judicial District offering free Family Law Resource Day

Monday, May 9, 2016

FORT MORGAN, Colo. – Colorado’s Thirteenth Judicial District is offering a free Family Law Resource Day at the Morgan County Justice Center (400 Warner St., Fort Morgan, CO 80701) on May 17, 2016, for people representing themselves in family court proceedings

The event, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., will offer services including ask-a-lawyer appointments, mediation, and parenting classes, to self-represented parties involved in domestic relations cases. All services are provided free of charge for individuals representing themselves in family court.  Spanish interpreters will be available.

Discussions with court staff and volunteer attorneys at the Family Law Resource Day do not constitute attorney-client relationships; the clinic is not a substitute for legal representation. Assistance will be provided for those needing guidance in completing court forms.

Child care will not be available at the courthouse. Please make child care arrangements before attending Family Law Resource Day.

For participants who wish to attend parenting classes, obtain legal advice, or seek mediation service it is recommended that they register in advance by contacting the Family Court Facilitator, Teri Morrow, at 970-542-3534, or the Self Represented Litigant Coordinator, Dawn Gerk, at 970-526-3978. Walk-ins are welcome and will be accommodated as space permits.
