First Judicial District to present update on problem solving courts

GOLDEN, Colo. – Judicial officers who preside over the seven problem solving courts in the First Judicial District (Gilpin and Jefferson counties) will meet with county commissioners, prosecutors, defense attorneys, law enforcement and others on March 30, 2016, to present an update on the courts’ work.

The public meeting, set for 3:30-5 p.m. in the Lookout Mountain Conference Room at the Jefferson County Administration and Courts Building, 100 Jefferson County Parkway, in Golden, is the courts’ inaugural annual report to stakeholders. Also scheduled to speak are Colorado Supreme Court Justice Brian D. Boatright and First Judicial District Chief Judge Philip J. McNulty.

Problem solving courts operating in the district are Recovery (adult drug) Court, Veterans Treatment Court, Adult Mental Health Court, Family Integrated Treatment Court, Juvenile Mental Health Court, Truancy Court and Child Support Enforcement Court. They are among 77 problem solving courts operating in Colorado.

The presentation will offer information on the courts’ performance to date including outcome measures and plans for the rest of 2016 and beyond.
