FORT COLLINS, Colo. – A new, monthly “Ask-an-Attorney” clinic will give people representing themselves in family law and civil court proceedings in the Eighth Judicial District (Jackson and Larimer counties) the opportunity to speak to an attorney at no charge.

The clinics will be held on the second Tuesday of each month from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Self-Help Center on the first floor of the Larimer County Justice Center, 201 LaPorte Avenue in Fort Collins, beginning Oct. 14, 2014.  Appointments may be made in person at the center, or by e-mailing

The clinic will allow self-represented parties the opportunity to meet one-on-one with an attorney for 15 minutes.

The Self-Help Center is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and by appointment only on Thursdays.  The staff can provide self-represented parties free procedural information, assistance in completing forms, information on the legal system and other help, but the staff cannot provide legal advice.  Public-access computers are available for research and completing forms.
