Roberto A. Silva to be sworn in as new Pueblo County Court judge

PUEBLO, Colo. – Roberto A. Silva, appointed recently by Gov. John Hickenlooper to the Pueblo County Court, will be sworn in during a ceremony on Oct. 11, 2018, at 4 p.m. in Courtroom 501 of the Pueblo Combined Court at 501 N. Elizabeth Street in Pueblo. Chief Judge Deborah Eyler will preside.

Silva will fill a vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Valerie Haynes.

Since 1999, Silva has served as managing attorney of the Pueblo office of Colorado Legal Services, representing clients in protection order, divorce, child custody, consumer collections, and housing cases. Before that, he worked as an attorney with Pikes Peak Arkansas River Legal Aid, as Deputy District Attorney in the 16th Judicial District (Bent, Crowley and Otero counties), and as staff attorney for Pueblo County Legal Services.

Silva earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas El Paso in 1977 and his law degree from Cornell University in 1992.
