Ceremony to mark opening of remodeled Clear Creek County Courthouse

Thursday, February 15, 2018

GEORGETOWN, Colo. – Leaders of the Colorado Judicial Department and Clear Creek County will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, to celebrate the completion of a project to remodel the Clear Creek County Courthouse.

Planning for the project began in fall 2014, and construction was complete by the end of 2017. The project includes upgraded, energy efficient climate control and lighting systems, compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the addition of a Self Help Center to assist self-represented litigants. The remodeled courthouse also offers space for mediation and meeting rooms to better serve parties to domestic relations cases.

“Through our cooperative and productive relationship with the Clear Creek County Board of Commissioners, we are pleased to be able to welcome the public to this more comfortable and efficient courthouse,” said Chief Judge Mark D. Thompson of the 5th Judicial District (Clear Creek, Eagle, Lake and Summit counties).

Several Clear Creek County and Judicial Department leaders will attend, including county commissioners, County Manager Keith Montag, Sheriff Rick Albers, Chief Justice Nancy E. Rice, Chief Judge Thompson, State Court Administrator Christopher T. Ryan, and Chief of Staff Mindy Masias.
