First Judicial District to present update on problem solving courts

GOLDEN, Colo. – Judicial officers who preside over the six problem solving courts in the First Judicial District (Gilpin and Jefferson counties) will meet with county commissioners, prosecutors, defense attorneys, law enforcement and others on April 6, 2017, to present an update on the courts’ work.

The public meeting, set for 4-5 p.m. in Hearing Room 1 at the Jefferson County Administration and Courts Building, 100 Jefferson County Parkway, in Golden, is the courts’ second annual report to stakeholders.

Problem solving courts operating in the district are Recovery (adult drug) Court, Veterans Treatment Court, Adult Mental Health Court, Family Integrated Treatment Court, Juvenile Mental Health Court, and Child Support Enforcement Court. They are among about 80 problem solving courts operating in Colorado.

The presentation will offer information on the courts’ performance to date including outcome measures and plans for the rest of 2017 and beyond.
