Todd Norvell to be sworn in as new District Court Judge in the Sixth Judicial District |

DURANGO, Colo. – Following Governor John Hickenlooper’s September appointment of Todd Norvell to the District Court bench in the Sixth Judicial District (Archuleta, La Plata and San Juan counties), Norvell will be sworn in by Chief Judge Jeffrey Wilson on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at 3 p.m. in the Division 4 courtroom of the La Plata County Courthouse (1060 East 2nd Avenue, Durango, CO 81301). Norvell fills the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Gregory G. Lyman.
Prior to his judicial appointment, Norvell was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Colorado from 2007 to 2017, and also previously worked as a state court prosecutor, a special agent with the FBI and in private practice. Norvell earned his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University and his J.D. from Southern Methodist University.
