The 8th Judicial District began participating in a Court Text Reminder Program in compliance with C.R.S. §13-3-101(14), with the goal to to reduce the number of criminal defendants and juvenile participants who are taken into custody solely as a result of their failure to appear in court.

The program is available to criminal defendants (CR, T, M cases) and Juveniles (JD cases) only.

All participants are automatically opted into the program and will receive text message reminders on their mobile device reminding them of: 

• upcoming court dates
• missed court dates
• unplanned court closures

How to opt-out:

• complete and file a JDF-18 form for each case your would not like to receive a text message reminder for (For the spanish version of the form, please click here), 
  • You may mail the completed JDF-18 form to: Larimer County Justice Center, Attn: Clerk's Office, 201 LaPorte Ave, Suite 100, Fort Collins, CO 80521.
• OR you can verbally opt-out with any court employee by phone or in person.

Always keep your contact information updated wtih the court to ensure you receive Text Reminders. This can be done by completing and submitting JDF-88.
