The current Huerfano County courthouse is located in Walsenburg, and was completed in 1904.  It is a Richardsonian Romanesque style building built by Architect C.A. Henderson. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Huerfano County built a brand new courthouse to meet the need for safe and updated judicial infrastructure. Groundbreaking took place on August 1, 2019. Construction was completed at the end of Novermber 2020 and the Courts' court rooms, offices and staff  moved into the new building at the beginning of December. Due to COVID19-restrictions the official Grand Opening was postponed until 2021. Scroll down to the see the construction from groundbreaking to completion.
