Adams County Justice Center, Attention: Records, 1100 Judicial Center Dr. Brighton, CO 80601

The Clerk of Court for Adams County is the custodian of records for the District and County Courts of Adams County.  Most court files are public record and may be viewed by anyone, however if you are not a party to the case the court is required to review the requested documents and remove (redact) protected information.  A $30.00/hour fee is assessed for this service, if time-intensive; the file(s) may not be immediately available to you.  There is no charge for viewing open cases unless redaction is required; however there is a minimum $5.00 fee if you are not a listed party on the case and do not have the case number.  Access to some files is limited either by court order or by statute.

State and Federal laws require us to protect certain documents and information in court file(s), such as driver’s license numbers, social security numbers, medical reports, etc. If you are a party to the case you may have access to these documents. Please bring in or include a copy of your valid government-issued photo ID with your request.

$5.00   Search fee per name on current system or to initiate search (1980 to present)
$30.00   Per hour fee (specific document search, retrieving records from storage, redaction, other time-intensive research)
$5.00   Off-site document retrieval fee (up to 5 pages)

If you are requesting divorce documents for someone other than yourself, protected information will be redacted (removed) from the document.  Access to the separation agreement, parenting plan, permanent orders and financial affidavits in divorce cases is restricted to parties to the case and attorneys of record. A valid government-issued photo ID will be required.
