The Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) is a nonprofit organization contributing to the safety of youth, families, and the communities of Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties through early intervention, comprehensive assessment and improved access to appropriate services. The JAC’s Law Enforcement Program (LEP) intervenes and addresses factors contributing to concerning behavior; increasing aspects of a young person’s life that keep them at home and out of juvenile justice and human service systems.

You will place electronic monitoring devices on youth eligible for home detention; coordinate with the Department of Human Services for shelter placements; complete bonds and promise to appear documents when necessary, and facilitate release to the Department of Youth Services. Your obligations as an Assessment Specialist also include database data entry, fingerprinting youth for the Colorado Bureau of Investigations, and creating detailed assessment reports for District, County, and Municipal courts.
