Brief Description

The Office of Dispute Resolution (“ODR”) was created by the Colorado Dispute Resolution Act in 1983,
Section 13-22-301, et seq., C.R.S. ODR exists to make available quality, affordable dispute resolution
programs and services in the State of Colorado. ODR contracts with mediators and other dispute resolution
professionals (hereinafter “Neutrals”). ODR is seeking to renew contracts which expire on June 30, 2019,
and obtain new applications for contract mediation services in the all Judicial Districts.
All Neutrals who contract with ODR are independent contractors and as independent contractors are solely
responsible for the performance of their duties under the contract and for payment of taxes, payment of
insurance, etc. All applicants understand that prior to engagement as an independent contractor for ODR
the parties will enter into a separate written contract setting forth the duties and responsibilities of the
parties. All Neutrals must have substantive experience in family law and understand the challenges working
with families in transition. You must be willing to submit to and pass a background check prior to be
considered for a potential contract.

Employees may hold not-partisan public office provided that there is no conflict of interest or appearance of impropriety with the duties performed for the Judicial Department. In all cases, it will be within the discretion of the Chief Judge of the judicial district to determine whether such a conflict exists. Employees shall seek the prior approval of the Chief Judge before seeking or assuming any such office. Work related to any office held may not be performed on Judicial Department time. Membership on a board or commission that requires registration or party identification as a qualification is not considered to be partisan political office.
