General Statement Of Duties:
This position performs business intelligence assignments at the strategic operating level for the Colorado Judicial Department.  Responsible for report building, and support and training of the Department’s chosen reporting tool.
Distinguishing Factors:
Positions in this classification are distinguished from other positions by leading the Department’s business intelligence program.  This position reports to the Manager of Data Analytics/QA.
Essential Functions Of the Position:
Develops, manages and promotes business intelligence solutions across the organization.
 
Utilizes query and reporting analysis tools.
 
Creates visualizations and reports to meet the needs of the business.
 
Standardizes data collection by developing creating common reports, data dictionaries and documentation.
 
Maintains catalog of dashboards and reports.
 
Consults with various business stakeholders to understand their use cases and reporting needs.
 
Partners with data units within the State Court Administrator’s Office to serve the business intelligence needs of the Department.
 
Provides training and presentations for report consumers and writers, communicating technical concepts in a user-friendly manner.
 
Prioritizes of business intelligence and reporting requests.
 
Analyzes and troubleshoots new and existing reports.  Identifies data trends, patterns and anomalies.
 
Implements best practices for data governance, database structures, principles, and standards
 
Attends meetings as required.
 
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
No formal supervisory responsibility.  Responsibility for one's own work product and work within a unit performing similar functions.  May have lead responsibilities including scheduling of work, instructing in work methods, and reviewing work products for a work group.
Minimum Education:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a bachelor’s degree and three years of experience with the Colorado court or probation systems, or business intelligence.  Additional work experience in these or other related areas may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required formal education.  Experience with visualization and reporting tools, such as IBM Cognos and Microsoft PowerBI, is strongly preferred.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms and perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust and focus.
Work Environment:
Frequently handles emergency or crisis situations and may be subject to varying and unpredictable situations and work hours.  The employee is subject to frequent interruptions, multiple calls and inquiries.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Evening and weekend work may be required to support software application deployments.  Occasional travel may be required.
