Jacque Russell - Magistrate

Ms. Russell graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wyoming in 1988, and attained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado, School of Law, Boulder, in 1992.

From 1996 to present she worked in the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office.  Her caseload included a wide variety of felony cases, including homicides, assaults, drug crimes, child abuse, and sex crimes.  Prior to that, she spent six years in the Juvenile Unit, training and supervising newer attorneys.  During this time, she served the Juvenile Review Board, Juvenile Services Planning Committee, Juvenile Mental Health Advisory Board, Best Practices Group, and Crossover Youth Initiative.

From 1993 – 1996 she served as Assistant Attorney General, assigned primarily to the Appellate Division and also served as a prosecutor in the Special Prosecutions Division, managing state tax fraud and Medicaid cases at the trial level, and appearing as a special prosecutor at a variety of jurisdictions in Colorado.
