Honorable Eric Bentley
Judge Bentley was appointed to the District Court in October 2016, and he currently presides over both a civil and a criminal docket.
Before taking the bench, Judge Bentley was a member at the Colorado Springs law firm of Flynn Wright and Bentley, LLC and, before that, a partner at Holme Roberts & Owen, LLP, with a practice focused on complex commercial litigation. Before moving to Colorado in 2001, he served as an assistant U.S. attorney in Philadelphia and a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, Organized Crime & Racketeering Section, in Washington, D.C.
Judge Bentley is a 1993 graduate of Yale Law School. After graduating, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Leonard B. Sand of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Honorable James L. Oakes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Judge Bentley considers it an extraordinary privilege to be able to serve the residents of the State of Colorado through his judicial position, and he aspires to treat all who appear in his court with fairness, consideration, and respect.
