Samuel S. Vigil - District Judge

The Honorable Samuel S. Vigil was appointed District Judge by Governor Jared Polis on June 10, 2022. Prior to his appointment to District Court, he served as Bent County Judge since February 2013, and as District Court Magistrate since November 2020. 

Prior to being appointed District Judge, Judge Vigil served as Deputy District Attorney for the 16th Judicial District District Attorney, practiced criminal law at Hudson Legal, and established a private practice serving several districts.  Judge Vigil earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New Mexico and his Juris Doctorate form Tulane University Law School.
