Barriers ex-offenders face in securing and retaining employment range from limitations of interpersonal and job skills to employability restricted by felony backgrounds. While the roots of recidivism are complex, evidence supports the belief that offenders who find stable employment are more likely to succeed in life than those who do not. The Pikes Peak Workforce Center (PPWFC) in collaboration with the Fourth Judicial District Probation Department, propose a Re-entry Employment Advocate Program to assist ex-offenders in El Paso County in securing employment. This program expects to increase employability of the participants with the goal of maximizing the potential for job retention, reducing the probability of returning to poverty-level livelihoods as well as reducing the offender’s overall risk to re-offend. The program developed to address this issue is the Re-Entry Services To Regain Employment (RESTORE) Program.

Colorado Probation is responsible for providing supervision and service to offenders in the community. This is accomplished by developing programs, which involves a balance between protection of the community, containment and rehabilitation of the offender, and satisfying the concerns of the victim.
Victims have the right to be heard informed and present throughout the criminal justice process. Probation recognizes that victims of crime, their families, and communities are important recipients of our services. Colorado Probation is committed to Public Safety, Victim and Community Reparation through Offender Accountability, Skill and Competency Development and Services to the Communities of Colorado.
Our goal is to assure that victims of crime are treated with fairness, respect and dignity throughout the probation supervision of the defendant.
