CAREER: Christopher T. Ryan was appointed Clerk of the Colorado Court of Appeals on December 3, 2007. He has worked in several positions for the Colorado Judicial Branch beginning as a Bailiff in the Denver District Court in 1990. Immediately prior this appointment Ryan served as a Senior Budget Analyst with the Colorado State Court Administrator’s Office. Additionally, he was employed by the National Center for State Courts from 2001-2005 as a Senior Court Management Consultant. His work focused on the assessment of operations and caseflow management in the courts and the development and maintenance of workload assessment models for judges and court staff. Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Colorado.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Clerk directs the administration of the state’s intermediate appellate court. Additionally, the Clerk, serves as supervisor of the court’s staff, develops and manages its budget, ensures proper management of the court’s docket, and oversees implementation of policy changes from the Court of Appeals judges, the State Court Administrator’s Office and Chief Justice Directives.
