• You are 18 years of age or older.
• You reside or live at least 50% of the time in the county or municipality from which you have been summoned, whether or not you are registered to vote.
• You are a Citizen of the United States.
• You can read, speak, and understand the English language.
• You have not been selected and served as an impaneled juror in any court within the preceding twelve months, nor have you been scheduled for juror service within the next twelve months by another court. (Any person claiming this disqualification shall submit proof from the appropriate authority verifying prior or pending service.)
• You do not have sole responsibility for the daily care of a permanently disabled person living in the same household, where your juror service would cause substantial risk of injury to the health of the disabled person. (If you do, you may be required to submit a statement from your doctor or authorized Christian Science practitioner to the jury commissioner as soon as possible after receipt of this summons before you may be disqualified.)
• You do not have a physical or mental disability that would affect your ability to serve as a juror. (If you do, you may be required to submit a statement from your doctor or authorized Christian Science practitioner to the jury commissioner as soon as possible after receipt of your summons before you may be disqualified.)

By Colorado Revised Statues, Title 13, Article 71 Colorado Uniform Jury Selection and Service Act, §13-71-105 (3), you are eligible to be a trial juror, but you are not eligible to be a grand juror. However, a felony conviction may be a factor the parties consider in determining whether to keep a person on the jury.

Military members are not exempt from jury duty in Colorado. If you are living in the County you are summoned for, you must report for Jury Service. Colorado does not consider your home of record or residence for jury duty purposes; instead, the County in which you are living controls.

You can't get out of it - no one is eligible to be excused from jury service ahead of time based on their occupation.  Jury service is a right and responsibility that all citizens share.  That said there are a few things I can do to make jury service more convenient for you.  We can probably move your service to a more convenient date; I can also attempt to find a date that is a one day trial.  Also, during jury selection, you'll be speaking with the judge and you should explain your situation at that time.  The judge has the authority to excuse you if he/she finds it a hardship on you, however, you do have to report for jury service and speak to the judge during jury selection.

Not in Colorado.  Some states have an age limit, but Colorado is not one of them.  Jury service in Colorado is based on your ability to serve, not your age.

If you have a temporary medical condition and would be able to serve later, just request a postponement and indicate when you think you will be up to serving within the next 12 months.

There could be a few reasons.  Your last doctor's note might not have indicated you should be excused permanently (in which case I would have only excused you for that year), or it could be the computer has your name slightly different this year than it did the last time.  For example, your driver's license says your name is Rose Anne Smith; however, your voter registration shows you as Rose A. Smith.  If it's not an exact match the computer assumes you are not the same person. Contact me and I will research it for you and let you know what, if anything, you need to do.

It depends.  To be excused to care for a permanently disabled person, the person must 1) reside with you and 2) you must not be employed outside the home.  If you meet those criteria, just have the disabled person's doctor send me a note indicating you need to be excused to care for another.  These doctors' notes are valid for one year only; that means you could receive a summons some other year and would again need to send a doctor's note.

Complete the disqualification section of the summons and mail it to me.  You must include your new address; also remember that you are required by law to change your driver's license within 30 days of any move.

Since names come from driver's license and Colorado I.D., you likely have one of those, and because you have a driver's license or I.D., that automatically puts your name in the system.  DMV does not keep track of who is a citizen; they just download all the names in their system to the jury system.  Just completely fill out the disqualification section, include your alien registration number and mail to me.
