David A. Bottger - 21st Judicial District Chief Judge

Judge Bottger is a graduate of Notre Dame University School of Law and was admitted to practice in Colorado in 1976. He served one year as a law clerk for Colorado Supreme Court Justice Lee and then entered the private practice of law in Denver. In 1983 he moved his private practice to Grand Junction and later that year was appointed to serve as Mesa County's first Magistrate. He served as Magistrate for 3½ years and was appointed District Court Judge in 1987. He was appointed to be the 21st Judicial District Chief Judge on October 1, 2005.
