Judge Whalen was appointed to the bench in October, 2006. Prior to her appointment, she was a partner and Chair of the litigation section at the law firm of Caplan and Earnest, LLC. Before entering private practice, she was an assistant county attorney with the Boulder County Attorney’s office specializing in child protection. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law and Colgate University.
