Debra Gunkel was appointed by Governor Ritter in 2010. She received her undergraduate degree from Colorado College, MBA from University of Denver, law degree from Southwestern University and LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University.  Prior to becoming a judge, Gunkel was with the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and recently was in private practice.  Judge Gunkel is classified as a 20% judge and continues to maintain a private practice.  Among her professional activities, Judge Gunkel is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and Colorado County Judges Association
