Judge Denvir was appointed to the Archuleta County Court bench in August 1995 and has been retained in two elections. Born in Chicago, he graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1969 and received his J.D. from the University of Southern California in 1973. After practicing as a legal services lawyer and serving as an administrative law judge in California, he moved to Pagosa Springs in 1979 and conducted a sole private practice. The Archuleta County Court Judge is a part-time 20 hours per week position. Judge Denvir also works as a private mediator and arbitrator and has been employed at times as a District Court magistrate.
