Frederick W. Gannett - 5th Judicial District Judge









Judge Gannett earned his undergraduate degree from Lawrence University and his law degree from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.  Prior to entering law school, Judge Gannett was a Pitkin County Sheriff's deputy.  In 1987 he was appointed as the Assistant County Judge for Eagle County Court--Division II, while also serving as the Municipal Judge for the City of Basalt.  In 1992, he was appointed to Eagle County Court--Division I.  Judge Gannett left the bench in 1994 to resume private practice, but continued to serve as Municipal Judge for the City of Basalt, and Associate Judge for the Town of Vail.  He was re-appointed to the Eagle County Court bench in 2002, a position he held until his appointment to the District Court bench.
