Judge Christopher E. Acker graduated from Woodland Park High School in 1977, and the University of Northern Colorado in 1981, with a Bachelors in business adminstration with an emphasis in accounting. He practiced as a CPA prior to attending law school at the University of Santa Clara where he graduated in 1987.
Before being appointed as a judge in El Paso County, Judge Acker clerked for Justice Charles E. Springer of the Nevada Supreme Court. Thereafter, he worked as an associate attorney in the Colorado Springs law firm of Hecox, Tolley, Keene & Beltz, P.C. From 1992 until he took the bench, Judge Acker was in private practice for Chirstopher E. Acker, P.C. where his general practice focused primarily upon real estate-related law as well as juvenile law.
On the El Paso County Court Bench, Judge Acker handles domestic violence cases, restraining orders, evictions, civil cases under $15,000.00, as well as misdemeanor criminal cases and miscellaneous traffic matters.
