Public Access: Court Records Searches

Access to trial court case documents and files is not available directly through the Colorado Judicial Branch website. Copies of court documents also are not available on the site.

For specific information related to a particular case, you must visit or contact the court in which the action was filed, or visit a commercial site that allows users to search a real time register of actions of state court records on the Internet. Copies of documents are not available from any of the commercial sites and may only be obtained by contacting the individual court where the documents were filed. A register of actions available on commercial sites include civil, civil water, small claims, domestic, felony, misdemeanor, and traffic cases.

LexisNexis CourtLink has agreed to act as agent for the Colorado Judicial Department to provide access to ICON (Integrated Colorado Online Network) to the general public and for other vendors. https://www.cocourtdata.com will allow you to look at a name index, the Register of Actions, an index to court filings and appearance dates. There is a fee of $5.00 per name search. A name search includes viewing all of the Registers of Actions related to that name.

Records can be accessed by name or case number through www.cocourts.com, cojustice.com and Background Information Services, Inc. There are charges for all of these services.

Electronic filing is available. The following link is a commercial site that allows attorneys to electronically file documents in District Court Civil, Civil Water and Domestic Relations cases statewide.
